Real Lager Reviews
Independent reviewers of real lagers for real men-

This week I ventured to the Leeds German Christmas Market for the very first time, I was hoping to wait at least till December so I would really get that warm christmas feeling but I couldn’t resist.

November 13th, 2009beerIn the past month, I have spent some time on ‘the dark-side’ visiting not one, but two ‘Beer Festivals’. It gets worse. I drank, and even enjoyed these ales (well- a couple of them). And, unlike a lager loving friend of mine who just drank himself through the strongest ones to ‘get his moneys worth’- I even read the descriptions in the guidebooks to find Ales that suited my taste buds. Both times though, after getting in the spirit of things and embracing a range of ales available- I ended up at the lager tents. It only took one sip to realise – these were much better after all, and actually I hadn’t been looking for drinks that suited my taste buds, I had just making sure I avoided the worst ones. November 9th, 2009LagerNow I appreciate that as we grow up our tastes change, we possibly mature and are able to afford the finer things in life. Here are a bunch of lads that I have spent many a day drinking with since our early uni days and they have changed! I don’t know when, I don’t know how and I certainly don’t know why but in a recent post they were totally disrespectful to the very drinks that got us to where we are today calling Carling and Fosters and this is verbatim “monotonous shite”

November 2nd, 2009LagerA Wednesday night is often a call for a few mid-week lagers for many of us. Some weeks that’s in front of the telly with a few cans to watch the footy, or it could be down the local watering hole to catch up with the lads.

October 25th, 2009LagerWhilst my good friend and fellow lager reviewer Jimmy was on his undercover ale mission, I was fortunate enough to be on a stag do in Manchester.

There’s not many things that go together better in life than lager and football.
My reward for battling though another mundane Monday in the office this week was a trip to Elland Road for Leeds United’s top of the table clash with Norwich City, and let’s face it, it would be rude not to sample some of League 1’s finest lagers while I was there.

October 22nd, 2009LagerYesterday was fellow lager lover (lout) Jimmys birthday. To celebrate this momentous occasion what lager could we start with other than the legendary Birra Moretti?
